Description
A Colorful Piece of HistoryStep back in time to the interwar period with the "Vaivorykste" (Rainbow) deck. Originally designed for a Lithuanian government competition in 1933, these cards have been meticulously restored from the archives of the M.K. Ciurlionis National Museum of Art. The deck lives up to its name-"Rainbow"-with each suit featuring a distinct rim color, creating a vibrant spectrum when spread or fanned.
Masterful Artistry
The artwork was hand-drawn by the renowned Lithuanian-Russian artist Mstislav Dobuzhinsky, famous for his expressive cityscapes. The cards are exploding with color and feature patterns deeply rooted in Lithuanian Folk Art.
- The Aces: Marked with the letter T (Tuzas), featuring detailed ornamentation.
- The Kings: Marked with K (Karalius), showcasing crowns stylized with their respective suit symbols.
- The Queens: Marked with M (Mergele), featuring traditional Lithuanian imagery and floral motifs.
- The Jacks: Marked with B (Berniukas), depicting figures holding farming scythes and the kankles (a traditional plucked string instrument).
While the design is historic, the production is modern luxury. Printed by the United States Playing Card Company (USPCC), these cards are crafted on premium casino-grade paper stock. They feature a classic Air-Cushion® finish, ensuring the cards slide perfectly for shuffling, dealing, and cardistry. The back design, based on 1919 carvings by Kazys Jakomas, has been adapted to minimize white space for a seamless visual experience during shuffling.

"I fell in love with historic Lithuanian cards, however, only few decks remain and they are impossible to get. Thus, I decided to revive these beautiful cards - to track down the few remaining copies and reprint them."
- Danielius Korsakas, Creator
"If you look closely you will see that the color of the rim is different for each of the suits, which truly makes the deck look like a rainbow."
"Every card is exploding with colors and features intricate hand-drawn ornaments."
