Staff Favourites

Magicbox staff have gathered together what they consider to be their top 10 items.

These may be tricks that they use when performing, books they swear by or accessories that they could not be without. They include close up effects, mentalism, kids show magic, social media magic and stage magic. Each member of staff has there own specialist areas which are described below, most are working performers:

Graeme

An "all round performer". Graeme does around 250 performances a year. 70% of those are close up at weddings and private functions etc. The rest are stage family shows or adult stage/cabaret shows.

Alex

Alex is predominantly a card magician, who's main area of interest is sleight of hand and close up card magic. Hes been practicing magic for around 10 years but switched to learning card techniques around 4 yeas ago.

Tom

Tom has worked at Magicbox for 8+ years. He also owns and runs The Magic Corner in Durham, A close up magic show that sells out months in advance.

Corey

Corey loves nothing more than knuckle busting sleights but having moved into the consulting side of magic, Corey now finds creative applications for a multitude of magic tricks.

Rob

Rob started working at Magicbox at the age of 13 as a Saturday helper. Over the years, he’s continued to help out with the shop from time to time, but mainly at events such as conventions and Newcastle Magic Circle meet-ups.

Hayden

Hayden has been at Magic Box for the past 4 years, originally starting as a customer when he first moved up to the North East in 2003. Formerly a radio presenter, he’s a writer and comedy historian with a love of magic thanks to his grandad.

Kris

Kris has worked for MagicBox for over 20 years, specializing in close-up card magic. He also incorporates iPhone magic and everyday objects into his performances.
