Description

RubiKille is currently Mark Elsdon's favourite close-up prediction trick. The prediction is customisable in multiple ways: it can be shown in your phone gallery, sent as a text message, displayed on some printed postcards, drawn in the moment on paper or in your phone’s doodle app, presented on a webpage… anywhere you choose.

Full Effect:
The performer introduces a small toy Rubik’s cube and invites someone to further mix it up. Whilst this is being done, he opens his phone gallery to a specific folder and explains that it contains some photos that he took earlier. He hands the phone to someone to hold, screen-side down for now.

The genuinely mixed cube is now handed to another person who rolls it like a die so that it is a random side up. The performer invites someone to turn over the phone. The photo is of the top side of a full size Rubik’s cube and the configuration of all 9 squares matches perfectly!

The performer rolls the mini cube over to the right side, so that a new face with a completely different configuration is in view. The person holding the performer’s phone swipes to the next picture and it again matches the cube exactly! This is repeated for the other four sides, and each and every one matches 100%, at odds of 43 quintillion-to-1 against…
