When I was around 12 years old I saw Bob Swadlings "changing card" at a magic convention in Harrogate where he was a magic dealer. It blew me away and everyone who saw it! I bought one instantly and immediately started performing it. Magicbox were one of only TWO magic dealers in the world that were allowed to sell them. To this day its still one of the best gimmick cards ever made and we are so excited to finally be able able to sell them once again.

Currently available:

Face Change, red or blue Bicycle back -

The original design of the changing card. A red spot card is displayed. It is tossed into the air where it is seen in mid air to magically change to a black spot card, the back is shown front and back. Includes ONE changing card gimmick.

Lucky Lady, red or blue Bicycle back -

Two playing cards are shown, being a nine and ten. These both visually change to a Jack and Queen. They then visually change into a King and an Ace. They can then be shown front AND back! Includes TWO changing card gimmicks.

Four Face Changing Card (Harry De Cruz) -

The face of a card visually changes FOUR times. Includes ONE changing card gimmick.

Invented in the early 90's by Bob Swadling this stunning visual transformation of a playing card is finally available again after many years. I recently acquired the rights from Bob to bring this incredible magic gimmick back to the market for several new generations to enjoy and for older generations to reacquaint themselves with.

Bob, his wife Val and I have spent many hours on video calls to ensure the new gimmicks which are hand made maintain the high standards that made them so beloved decades ago. Each card is a hand crafted masterpiece that takes over 1 hour to construct and goes through vigorous quality control checks to ensure every one of them performs for you flawlessly and looks like trick photography.

Most importantly, every changing card will last you a LONG time due to the diligent care taken during its construction.

'In 1991/92 I started my own magic business, Swadling Magic. Around that time, Simon Lovell had a trick called ‘Swirlit’. I had not seen ‘Swirlit’ but I had developed a Swadling Magic Changing Card, and I spoke to Simon at a Bristol Convention. We both showed each other our creations, and agreed the methods were different.

I advertised my first trick, The Swadling Magic Changing Card, in the weekly magazine, ABRA published by Goodliffe. Fortunately, quite a few sales came In and my business was on the Map! Several different types of Changing Card followed, my favourite being Lucky Lady. I always open my Close Up act with this.

I am very happy that Richard Young, a pupil of mine, has obtained from me, the exclusive manufacturing and selling rights of these cards.'
