The Around The World “MIND READING” Coloring Book is a new, fun and easy mental effect good for Children, Adults and mixed audiences. The method is subtle and easy….BUT…it also demands a subtle handling and control of the audience. You must be confident and hide the method in misdirection. I would not generally say this was a trick for beginners, but it is not hard to do either. Here is the basic effect: Hand the book to a spectator and inform them that some images have TEXT and some do not. Say “Let’s keep things simple. Pick an image WITHOUT text and make sure that only you can see it. Concentrate, and study it.” Wait a few seconds. Ask the spectator to close the book. Take the book and put it aside or give it to another spectator to hold. You concentrate and in the most dramatic manner possible you reveal the object that they are thinking of. You can repeat the effect this time using an image WITH TEXT next to it , and the results are the same. You can sketch a picture of the object on a pad, etc. Although this is NOT a beginners item, this is really worth looking at for the performing mentalist or magician. Solid, solid routine and method.
